Senior Leadership Induction
Hounslow offers a comprehensive Induction programme for Headteachers and Deputy/Assistant Headteachers. These programmes are delivered by a Headteacher Co-ordinator and staff from the Local Authority.

Senior Leadership Mentoring
Hounslow also operates a mentoring programme for its' Senior Leaders. The programme is available to all Headteachers and Primary Deputy Heads. Secondary Deputy Heads are mentored in school.
The mentoring programme allows new senior leaders to benefit from the practice of their colleagues, learn in a less formal structure and have access to practical advice and support that enables them to develop in their role.

National Initiatives
Hounslow works closely with the National Colleage for Leadership in Childrens Services and Schools (NCSL). The following links provide information to a range of valuable NCSL resources:
'Head Start' is a professional development programme for new headteachers, providing a seamless transition from the National Professional Qualification for Headship (NPQH) into early headship. It replaces the Early Headship Provision (including New Visions and the flexible grant). The programme includes an entitlement to support from an experienced serving headteacher (professional partner), together with a range of high-quality, contextualised learning materials and local opportunities.
Head Start supports new headteachers in becoming highly effective in their roles through increasing their leadership skills and confidence, while encouraging learning, self-reflection and development.
